Scope

This accessibility statement applies to knesko.com, including our product pages, shopping cart, checkout process, contact page, search experience, and mobile web
experience.

 

Our Commitment

KNESKO is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and are continually improving the accessibility of our website for all users.

 

Conformance status

KNESKO has undertaken a comprehensive accessibility audit and remediation program. As of March 2026, we have completed remediation of 18 identified accessibility tasks spanning keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, color contrast, form labeling, image descriptions, and semantic structure.

 

Measures Taken

KNESKO takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Include accessibility considerations in our development and content creation practices 
  • Conduct regular accessibility audits using automated tools (axe DevTools, Lighthouse) and manual testing 
  • Test with keyboard navigation and screen reader technology (VoiceOver, NVDA) 
  • Remediate identified accessibility barriers in a prioritized, phased approach 
  • Require accessibility commitments from third-party vendors and evaluate alternatives when necessary 
  • Perform quarterly automated testing and annual comprehensive manual reviews

 

Accessibility Improvements Completed

The following improvements have been implemented as part of our ongoing remediation program:

Keyboard Navigation

  • Skip-to-content link added as the first focusable element on all pages
  • Main navigation menu fully accessible via keyboard (Space, Enter, Escape)
  • Product card carousels no longer trap keyboard focus
  • PDP accordions expandable via keyboard
  • Variant selectors display visible focus indicators
  • Cart upsell products fully keyboard accessible
  • Blog posts in search results display visible focus indicators

Screen Reader Compatibility

  • Main menu announced as navigation landmark 
  • Logo link includes accessible name ("KNESKO Home") 
  • Account icon link includes accessible name ("Account") 
  • "Add to Cart" button reads correctly (not spelled out letter by letter) 
  • Hidden decorative elements no longer announced by screen readers 
  • Instagram feed items include descriptive ARIA labels 
  • Blog results section properly identified with heading context

Visual and Content

  • Color contrast improved across all pages to meet WCAG 2.1 AA 4.5:1 ratio
  • All hero images include descriptive alt text
  • All product images include descriptive alt text
  • Form quantity inputs include associated labels
  • Smart Search text enlargement improvements implemented

Contact Page and Search

  • Contact page: updated success message, subject field set as required
  • Reviews landing page SEO and accessibility improvements
  • Smart Search accessibility improvements for text display

 

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some limitations may exist:

  • Third-party content: Some embedded features from third-party applications (including the "Carbon Neutral Shipping" widget) may present accessibility limitations. We are actively engaging those vendors to improve accessibility and evaluating alternatives where necessary.
  • Legacy content: Some older images may lack complete descriptive text. We are systematically updating these as part of our ongoing remediation program.
  • Dynamic content: Some dynamically loaded content may not immediately be available to assistive technologies. We are working to improve the accessibility of these components.

Assessment and Review

This website was assessed for accessibility compliance in January 2026 using automated testing (axe DevTools, Lighthouse), keyboard navigation testing, and screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA). A total of 272 issues were identified across 7 page types, of which 18 prioritized remediation tasks were defined and completed.

Remediation of identified issues is ongoing, with quarterly automated scans and annual comprehensive reviews planned.
